a Lisboa

by Joana Reais Ensemble

/
  • Compact Disc (CD) + Digital Album

This is a fresh and lively album, composed and dedicated to Lisbon, the city where the musicians met: Joana Reais the singer, Múcio Sá the composer and guitar player, Miguel Menezes the doublebass player and André Mota the drummer. We recorded it in Lisbon-Portugal and remastered it in Porto Alegre-Brazil.

With original worldmusic tunes and a jazzy version of a popular fado song, it has illustrations by Carolina Maria, design by Mariana Veloso and the photography is from Vera Marmelo. The big bonus is the booklet with beautiful photographs and the lyrics of all songs, so you can sing with us!

"a Lisboa" was released on January 2015 and it is with great pleasure that it is now available for purchase on bandcamp. Don't miss this limited edition!

about

Joana Reais Lisbon, Portugal

Joana's voice echoes the samba that dances on the streets of Rio de Janeiro while lures the Lisbon fado that came in suitcases from the other side of the ocean.

Joana's eyes have room for whole countries, for whole journeys and for journeys that are yet to be.

In Joana's music, there's this need to be joyful here, tomorrow and afterwards and, in her songs, Joana is able to enlighten.
